Our Word For 2022 Is EXPERIENCE
I wish I had the words to sum up the gratitude in my heart for your support in 2021. We had quite a year of benchmarks for a small business including our first year in our brick-and-mortar shop, getting a “Best of Baltimore” nod and celebrating 6 years of Taken. Whether you shopped with us for the first time, came through our “Bring A Friend” campaign, or have been with us since that first pop up shop in 2015, you are part of our story.
This year as I started thinking about goals for the shop, benchmarks to hit and all the typical small business markers of success, I met a friend to brainstorm where I was heading. When we ended our conversation it was clear, Taken isn’t about the things, Taken is about the EXPERIENCE.
What does that mean for 2022?
- More DIY workshops for you to meet some incredible makers and learn a new skill.
- Mini in-store pop ups for you to shop directly with some of our favorite makers.
- More Taken pop-up shops in the Baltimore metro area. We hear you, you miss us! We’re hitting the road again this year.
What hasn’t changed, and won’t change!
- We will warmly welcome you every time you visit, whether you’re stepping in for the first time or the 100th time.
- You’ll feel at home at Taken. We spend a lot of time creating a vibe that is comfortable and well, like home.
- We will feature an incredible array of Maryland based artists & makers who’s work speaks to our mission of celebrating craftsmanship and sustainability.
- We will bring a collection of fabulous vintage finds because good design is timeless.
